Introduction to Aviation for School Leavers Summer School Programme

“TAKING TO THE SKIES: AN INTRODUCTION TO AVIATION FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS”.
BAASeC and the UWI Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business will be hosting our annual week-long summer school to introduce students to the aviation industry. This summer, we will welcome two cohorts of students during the weeks of August 18th – 22nd and August 25th -29th 2025.
The summer school is an immersive experience exposing school leavers and those on the cusp of leaving school (ages 14-17) to the exciting world of aviation.
It features a series of talks from industry professionals, tours and interactive activities. The primary focus is on stimulating the budding interest of aspiring aviation professionals and exposing them to a wide cross-section of career options available in the aviation industry.
Key objectives include:
Introducing students with interest in aviation to the industry and highlighting its socio-economic importance to Barbados and the Caribbean.
Educating students on the diverse range of career paths available.
Providing first-hand exposure to aviation environments through field trips.
Equipping students with essential personal and professional development skills to succeed in the world of work.
